NETbilling Mode V-pro

NETbilling Mode V-pro is a direct method of connection to the Netbilling Gateway. Mode V-pro makes it easy for merchants to transition from Verisign to NETbilling. Mode V-pro allows merchants to perform AUTHs, SALEs, CREDITs and other transactions through the Netbilling Gateway without changing their client software.

The Mode V-pro interface enables merchants currently using the Verisign PayFlow Pro to migrate to NETbilling in minutes.

Mode V has been tested with many shopping carts and other application that are designed to work with Verisign PayFlow Pro.

Directing traffic to Mode V-pro is a simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Locate the payment settings screen or configuration file for the PayFlow Pro application
  2. The default value for one of the parameters should be

    payflow.verisign.com

  3. Change this to

    secure.netbilling.com -or-
secure.netbilling.com:1403 if there is no separate port setting

  4. If there is a port setting, set it to 1403 (instead of 443)
  5. There should be a parameter called VENDOR. Set this to your NETbilling account number, and optionally site tag. For example:

    112233445566 -or-
    112233445566:SITETAG if using site tags

  6. Finally, you need to add the IP address to the Direct Mode IP access list on the Access Security page within the Netbilling Gateway. If you don't know the IP address of the PayFlow Pro client machine, try running a transaction. It will fail and an error message will be written to the in the event log containing the IP that was denied access.
After following the steps above, you will be able to process transactions through the Netbilling Gateway with no further client side changes.

NETbilling also has connection modes compatible with other transaction formats, including e-wallet, Authorize.net, and CyberCash. Documentation of these other connection methods can be found in our Release Notes.
