NETbilling Mode C

NETbilling Mode C is a direct method of connection to the Netbilling Gateway. Mode C makes it easy for merchants to transition from CyberCash to NETbilling. Mode C allows merchants to perform AUTHs, SALEs, CREDITs and other transactions through the Netbilling Gateway without changing their client software.

The Mode C interface enables merchants currently using the CyberCash MCK to migrate to NETbilling in minutes.

Mode C has been tested with CyberCash's Merchant Connection Kit's (MCK), and the ShopSite shopping cart. Other CyberCash compatible shopping carts can also work out-of-the-box with NETbilling Mode C.

Directing traffic to Mode C is a simple, two-step process. Once you have done so, you will be able to process through NETbilling.

Mode C does not support all Cybercash operations. Cybercash operations that are performed by the NETbilling system automatically are not supported. For example, NETbilling automatically settles batches for merchants, so the batch-closing feature is not supported. NETbilling also includes an extensive reporting system, hence the emulation mode does not support the MCK legacy reporting features.

NETbilling also has connection modes compatible with other transaction formats, including e-wallet, Authorize.net, and Verisign. Documentation of these other connection methods can be found in our Release Notes.
